    Enhancing Regional Coordination for Aviation Search and Rescue (SAR)

    JAA TO was pleased to participate in the 2025 edition of the Regional Aeronautical Search and Rescue Advisory Committee (RASARAC) meeting, which took place in Croatia. 

    This multinational initiative played a vital role in formalising, standardising, and strengthening regional cooperation in the execution of international search and rescue (SAR) operations, bringing together civil and military stakeholders to align SAR service development across borders.
    JAA TO was represented by Murat Yalcin, Director of Sales, Marketing & Operations, and Damian Schloemer, Sales & Account Executive. Their participation reflected JAA TO’s continued commitment to advancing SAR capabilities through regulatory training and capacity-building efforts.
    In accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2023 between JAA TO and the RASARAC States, the organisation continued to serve as a premium training partner for SAR operations. This partnership supported the improvement of SAR effectiveness and standardisation across the region. JAA TO’s updated SAR training portfolio — including the upcoming ICAO Management – Instructional Training Programme (M-ITP) — was introduced as a means to facilitate cross-border identification and coordination of training requirements.

    JAA TO extended its sincere appreciation to the event organisers for their hospitality and effective coordination. Special recognition was given to Mr. Davor Spevec, Head of the 112 Sector at the Ministry of the Interior – Civil Protection Directorate, and Ms. Arabela Vahtarić, Head of International Relations at the National Protection and Rescue Directorate, for their instrumental roles and dedication to advancing this critical area of aviation safety.
    As regional dynamics continue to evolve, JAA TO remains committed to supporting long-term collaboration with RASARAC and its member states in strengthening operational readiness and reinforcing aviation safety throughout the region.
