    JAA TO and Romanian CAA Forge Closer Ties on Aviation Training

    JAA Training Organisation has taken an important step towards strengthening cooperation with the Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority (Autoritatea Aeronautică Civilă Română – RCAA) during an official state visit to Bucharest.

    The JAA TO delegation was warmly welcomed by Mr. Nicolae Stoica, Director General of Civil Aviation, and his team. Discussions focused on developing structured training opportunities in key areas of Air Operations, Personnel Licensing (PEL), Search and Rescue (SAR), and Accident & Incident Investigation. Both organisations agreed to lay the foundation for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will formalise collaboration on training activities and address the core training needs of RCAA’s departments.

    The agenda also included in-depth dialogue on strengthening support for the State’s Accident and Incident Investigation Unit. On this occasion, Mr. Tecuceanu Cristian, Director General of the Civil Aviation Safety Investigation and Analysis Authority (SIAA) Romania, contributed to the discussions, highlighting the importance of capacity-building in this field.
    Representing JAA TO, Mr. Murat Yalcin, Director of Sales, Marketing & Operations, and Mr. Timothy Rog, Sales & Account Executive, further engaged in talks with representatives of the Department for Emergency Situations within the Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs. Discussions with Major Paul Marinescu and Lt. Col. Narcis Carpen, Head of the Emergency Operational Coordination Service, centred on SAR training needs, while Mr. Silviu Trentea, Flight Director, responsible for Flight Operations and Licensing, provided valuable insights on PEL matters.

    This state visit represents a significant milestone in advancing aviation safety through international cooperation. By strengthening ties with the Romanian CAA and its key stakeholders, JAA TO reaffirms its commitment to supporting national authorities with tailored training programmes, fostering knowledge exchange, and enhancing operational readiness.
    Looking ahead, JAA TO is eager to continue developing this partnership, working hand in hand with the RCAA to build sustainable training frameworks and contribute to global aviation safety.
