    The aviation industry is at a crossroads. As technology advances, passenger numbers rise, and global travel evolves, the demand for skilled aviation professionals has never been greater.

    Yet, many countries and organisations are facing a growing skills shortage, struggling to find and train the next generation of aviation experts. To address this critical issue, the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) EUR/NAT Aviation Training and Skills Workshop is bringing together industry leaders, regulators, and training experts for two days of insightful discussions and forward-thinking solutions. 
    Taking place on 11-12 March 2025 in in the Paris Regional Office, this workshop- organized in collaboration with the JAA Training Organisation (JAA TO)- is an opportunity to be part of the conversation that will shape the future of aviation training and workforce development. 
    In the afternoon session, the regional sub-group leaders identified from TPSC/12 present on the coordination of training needs and scheduling of upcoming ICAO training activities. The objective is to analyse and find mechanisms optimising the yearly global calendar of ICAO training products with training demands from the TPP community and tackling delivery issues in the regions.

    Every day, airports, airlines, and air traffic control centers rely on highly trained professionals to keep the skies safe. But what happens when there aren’t enough skilled individuals to meet the growing demand? Aviation is not just about aircraft-it’s about people. Without a well-prepared workforce, the industry risks delays, inefficiencies, and safety concerns. This workshop aims to tackle these issues head-on. 
    The first day will focus on the big picture- examining the state of aviation training on both a global and regional level. Industry experts will explore key questions such as: 
    • What are the most pressing workforce challenges in aviation today? 
    • How are emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) reshaping the skills required for aviation professionals? 
    • What innovative training solutions are available to bridge the skills gap? 
    Through presentations, panel discussions, and expert insights, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the evolving needs of the aviation industry and the strategies required to keep training programs relevant and effective. 

    ✈️Collaborative Solutions to Build a Stronger Regional Workforce

    On Day Two, the focus will shift to regional challenges and collaborative solutions. Aviation experts from across the European and North Atlantic (EUR/NAT) region will share their experiences and insights on workforce planning, training gaps, and the need for better forecasting. 
    But this won’t just be a passive listening experience. Through interactive discussions and roundtable sessions, attendees will play an active role in developing a regional skills monitoring framework. The goal? To create a sustainable, data-driven approach that ensures aviation training keeps pace with industry needs. 
    This is an opportunity to contribute ideas, share best practices, and be part of a movement that will help build a resilient and future-ready aviation workforce.
